Review and Handling of Complaints

In accordance with (3) of §4 of the Government Statute 137/2008 (V 16), within 15 days from the publication of the results, a request for review may be submitted with reference to the evaluation of the examination, infringement of a legal regulation or a mistake in score calculation. The request for reassessment should be sent to the Examination Centre’s address. The Head of the Examination Centre will make his or her decision within 15 days from the date of submission and will inform the examinee about it in writing. The decision might well involve an alteration of the examination results, provided that the Head of the Examination Centre acquiesces to the points made in the request.

The examinee may file a complaint about the decision of the Head of the Examination Centre, addressed to the Educational Authority Accreditation Centre for Foreign Language Examination (OH-NYAK, 1055 Budapest, Szalay u. 10-14.) but submitted to the Examination Centre. The complaint may only refer to the infringement of a legal regulation or to professional error. With respect to the evaluation of the examination, further complaints cannot be filed.

If the examination result of the examinee reaches the so-called critical limit, i.e. a mere 1-2 points are needed for a successful examination or 1 point is needed for the minimal score on a particular skill, prior to dispatching a notice, the Examination Centre will automatically forward the tests written by the examinee, for a review.

The decision of the Examination Board or the determination of the examination results cannot be changed on the basis of equity.

If the examinee has any complaint about the examination in other respects, he or she can send it to the Head of the Examination Centre in writing. His inquiry will be replied to in writing within 30 days.
