Examination registration procedure

Anyone turning 14 years of age in or prior to the year of the examination may register for the examinations of FLEC BBU.

Registration for the examinations of the Centre becomes valid by supplying the data required for the examination and by paying the examination fee.

How?

Data required for the examination are to be supplied online: on the Examination Centre’s webpage designed for online registration ».

For the payment of the examination fee, depending on the payer, there are the following options:

  • by bank card payment (VISA or MasterCard bank cards)
  • by transfer

The Examination Centre issues the receipt of the examination fee with the payer’s name on it. There is no opportunity for modifying the payer’s data subsequently.

For what?

Examinations advertised in the given examination period are featured on the registration forms. They are also accessible under the corresponding menu point » of the homepage.

One can register for several examinations in a single examination period. However, in such a case the candidate must reckon with the possibility of the individual components of different examinations occurring at the same time. Information in this respect may be acquired when the examination schedule is complete. Should the candidate submit registration for several examinations and should the times of their components be the same, he or she can defer one of the examinations or cancel it finally in accordance with the rules of deferment and cancellation.

Each component of examinations consisting of several parts must be taken in the same examination period. Taking the individual parts of such examinations may not be transferred to another examination period.

By When?

Online registration for the examination can be supplied until 12.00 pm of the final day of the registration deadline ». The necessary data should be provided and the examination fee should be paid by that deadline.

Following the end of the registration period the Examination Centre will receive no registrations regardless of the reason.

Data

The examinee must check the accuracy of the personal data provided online when viewing the schedule.

Upon registration the number of that identification document must be entered which will serve to identify the candidate during the entire examination procedure. It may be an identity card, passport or new type driving licence, but not a student ID. Before each examination component, the document indicated at the time of registration will be requested for identification purposes. Other identification documents may not be accepted automatically. Hence, a candidate producing a different identification document may take the examination only after making a declaration. The identification document brought to the examination may be of one of the three types listed above only.

In order to avoid incompatibility, when registering, the examinee must indicate the names of those teachers who have participated in his or her preparation for the language examination. Failure to do so, resulting in a situation where incompatibility is revealed only at the examination, will entail an extra administration charge.

If the examinee does not see his or her placement on his application platform, it is essential that he or she make an inquiry at the Examination Centre.

Examinees with special needs

The Examination Centre also strives to ensure special accommodations for examinees with varying degrees of impairment of an ability necessary for taking the examination. Should the examinee, on account of his or her disability, wish to rely on assistance, this should be expressed upon registration in the form of a written request with a copy of the official document on the nature and extent of the disability.

With such candidates, on the basis of the request and the attached document, the possibility and circumstances of taking the examinations will be decided upon by the Head of the Examination Centre, with attention to legal regulations, as well as the recommendations of specialised literature and of the Research Group Equality in Language Learning in this respect (for examples, see here »).

Assistance may be provided by:

  • ensuring access and/or unimpeded movement,
  • administering the examination in a separate room,
  • granting extra time for task completion,
  • presenting tasks in suitable required formats.

In each case the Examination centre endeavours to create suitable conditions for the examinee through individual consultation. It attempts to take the examinee’s requests into consideration as long as they do not conflict with accreditation regulations.

Reasons of Conscience

The Examination Centre, depending on its capacities, enables those who cannot take an examination on Saturdays for reasons of conscience to be examined on a date and under conditions determined by the Centre. In such cases examinees should also communicate their request when registering.
